Looking for an Easy Dog Treat Recipe?

This easy dog cookie recipe is the one I used the first time I made treats for our own dogs. Howard and Sammi loved them and I've been making treats ever since. It is a great recipe to get you started baking delicious treats for your dog!

Looking for an even easier way to make homemade dog treats? Try our Woof Naturals Gourmet Dog Treat Mix

Basic Dog Biscuit Recipe

1 1/2 Cups Whole Wheat Flour

1/2 Cup Quick Oats

2/3 Cup Skim Milk

3 T Canola Oil

Instructions:

Pour skim milk into large mixing bowl. Add oats and allow to sit for 5 minutes. Mix in Canola oil. Mix in flour 1/2 cup at a time until a stiff dough forms. Place on floured surface and roll to desired thickness. Cut into desired shapes. Bake at 350 degrees. If rolled to 3/8" baking time is 30 to 35 minutes..or until a golden brown.

Tip: After shutting off the oven I leave the dog biscuits in the oven for a couple hours to make sure they are completely dry and crunchy. Then they can be stored for a long time with out worrying about spoilage.

Variations: The flavor of this easy dog treat recipe can be changed by simply using beef or chicken broth in place of the skim milk. I use low sodium, 99% fat free broth.
