Howard Approved Homemade Dog Treat Recipe

Peanut Butter Carob Banana Bites

This homemade dog treat recipe uses a great combination of peanut butter, carob, and banana for a flavor bonanza your dogs will love!

Peanut Butter Carob Banana Bites

1/2 Cup all natural peanut butter
1/4 Cup warm water
1/2 Cup mashed/pureed banana
1 T honey
1 egg
1 3/4 Cups wheat flour
1/2 Cup carob chips

Instructions:

Mix peanut butter and warm water in large bowl. Add banana, honey, and egg and mix until well blended. Mix in 1 cup of flour until well blended. Mix in the carob chips. Then add remaining flour 1/4 cup at a time until a stiff dough forms.

Place on floured surface and roll to desired thickness. Cut into desired shapes. Bake at 300 degrees. If rolled to 3/8" baking time is 30 minutes or until golden brown.

Tip: After shutting off the oven I leave the dog biscuits in the oven for a couple hours to make sure they are completely dry and crunchy. Then they can be stored for a long time with out worrying about spoilage.
