How I Started an Online Pet Business
(And how you can too!)

If you are like me, you dream of owning your own business and making a living working from home. This is something I think about all of the time! (Honestly, almost to the point of being an obsession.) After years of dreaming, it is so exciting to see that dream coming true.

Background
As mentioned in our About Us page, I owned a pet sitting business for several years. I started the business part-time, working around my full-time job. The intention was always was to grow the business to full time, but it just did not happen. Not because it was not a viable business, but rather due to personal circumstances and my own decisions.

I knew the importance of reinvesting in the business to help it grow but we had experienced some financial set backs and every penny we made in our pet sitting business went toward living expenses. In hindsight, even though times were very tough, I wish I had found a way to reinvest the money to help the business grow.

I absolutely loved pet sitting. It was an amazing feeling to be paid for doing something that I enjoyed so much and I learned valuable lessons about operating a pet business. Eventually though, we decided to relocate to a new city. One of the most difficult aspects of moving was saying goodbye to our pet sitting clients.

A New Direction
After moving, I continued to dream of working from home in a pet related business. Unfortunately, we did not have much money to invest in a start up company.

I considered starting a pet sitting business again, but knew we may be moving again in a couple of years.It didn't make sense to start something I would have to leave just a couple of years down the road.
